The Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute was in need of a set upgrade to breathe new life into their aging set, located at the Missouri School of Journalism. Erector Sets was more than happy to oblige, taking on all design, engineering and fabrication responsibilities.
The most technologically striking feature of the set, a 3×3 55” monitor wall, was cleverly engineered with a removable panel to provide staff easy access to the control room. To its left is a backlit window wall with a cityscape graphic and silver curtains to help RJI achieve a warmer indoors feel. The window graphic panels are interchangeable, allowing for new graphics in the future to keep the set fresh.
To the right of the 3×3 monitor wall is a wood monitor wall flanked by multichannel LED-lit shootoff walls. To further boost its multipurpose potential, a motorized dropdown green screen was installed. The opposite side of the set hosts a fixed backlit window wall with an interchangeable graphic to be utilized as a unique backdrop. In addition to that, a barn door sliding wall allows RJI’s team convenient access to the studio’s storage area.
