Erector Sets teamed with DIGSAU Architecture, Studio Ludo, and Smith Playground to renovate the children’s section of the Cecil B. Moore Public Library in Philadelphia.
The overall theme is an interactive children’s playground where kids can ‘Stay and Play; Learn and Read.’ The play space incorporates a 12′-0″ high climbing wall, interactive bookcases, and a performance stage. The design focused on faceted and angled planes which kids could interact with. The bookcases have voids for kids to climb through, or nestle into and read a book. The completed Cecil B. Library is the first of three Philadelphia libraries that Erector Sets is transforming into exciting, playful, interactive children’s spaces.
