AlJazeera was in need of a fabricator who could engineer, build and install two identical broadcast desks in time for their 2024 U.S. Election coverage.
The desks would be installed at two separate rooftop studios in Washington, D.C.: one overlooking the White House, and the other with the United States Capitol as its background.
The desks had a complicated design featuring large sweeping compound curves and required Erector Sets to flex their engineering and fabrication muscles to complete the task.
The body needed to be CNC cut out and built up by using layers of 3″ foam that was later hard-coated and painted to an auto-grade finish.
This was truly a challenging project that pushed Erector Sets’ skill and knowledge of materials to great heights. The results show that it was worth the effort.
